When K.D. García moved from New Mexico to the Chicagoland area, she thought the winters would do her in. Years later, she won’t put on a coat until the temperatures sink below freezing.
A practicing veterinarian, K.D. is passionate about education and opportunities for women to pursue STEM careers. At home, she enjoys the chaos her usually wonderful children, mostly well-behaved dogs, and somewhat devious cats bring to life. She’s grateful for her typically tolerant husband.
When she finds time for herself, she usually spends it reading or writing. She writes contemporary romance, young adult, and middle grade books. Like her life, her stories are infused with animals.
Her favorite books range from romances to thrillers, mysteries to fantasies, books written for teens, for adults, and those about children. The type of book doesn’t matter as long as there’s a good story and great characters with lots of heart.
